Gmail is clever about shortening the list of names in a conversation by detecting the first names and just showing them: “Yuri, Andre” or “Joe, Yuri.” This would all be great if the names in Brazil were distributed more evenly. At the moment, I find myself in multiple conversations with “André” or “Carlos”. That’s three different Andrés and four different Carloses, however, and it is all quickly becoming very confusing. Thanks god some Andres come without the accent over e end, so I can at least keep them apart that way.
It would all be so much easier if they just let me pick a custom short name for each contact and avoided shortening the names of people I don’t know.
