On Deleting Quoted Messages Page Content Don't put anything here Page Name (for URL) Page Title Breadcrumb Text You know how sometimes you exchange a few messages back and forth with someone and end up accumulating a trail of prior quoted messages, with quotes nested six levels deep? I sometimes try to delete those out of (outdated?) concern for bandwidth and storage space. Today I discovered another good reason, though. I was writing reply to a message and noticed that it had a huge tail of quoted lines. When I went to delete them, however, I discovered that it wasn't just the prior messages from this thread - instead, Thunderbird was attaching below *all later messages from my inbox*! There must have been some kind of corruption of the inbox file. While there wasn't anything particularly embarrassing in my inbox, the idea of having half of it forwarded to someone really gave me a creepy feeling. Another reason not to include long tails of quoted messages. Don't put anything here Advanced Fields Category 2002200320042005200620072008200920102011201220132014E. AsiaE.
