At one point, while looking at a closed church we saw a sign: "To visit the church, contact Mme. Anna Blanchoin at such-and-such address." Our eventual destination was Reims, but direction to Reims was rarely marked on the small roads. So, a long time we were following signs to "Château-Thierry," which we could see on our map as being in the same direction. When we finally got to Château-Thierry we were sufficiently intrigued that we decided to stop briefly. It turned out that this small town had medieval ruins, a nice hill from where to look around and a couple of donkeys.
