I found this fruit in a local supermarket. I had no idea what it was but decided to try it. At the check-out counter nobody seemed to know what it was either, and it took half a store to figure it out.
When I got home, I googled for it and discovered that “granadilha” is a close relative of passion fruit (“maracujá”). When opened, it seemed quite similar, same soft edible seeds in gelatinous juice. Sour, but in a good way.
