Taxi Driver's Commission Don't put anything here Don't put anything here Page Content Page Name (for URL) Page Title Breadcrumb Text A taxi driver told me the other day that one of the expensive restaurants in Leme (Marius) must be no good now, because every time he drives people from it, they complain that the food is not up to its fame and price. However, he still takes foreign tourists there if they make a mistake of asking him for a suggestion. Why? Because the restaurant pays taxi drivers R$15 (~US$7) commission for every foreign tourist they deliver. So, if he drives a couple of Americans from Ipanema to Marius, he receives maybe about R$10-15 as fare, but then another R$30 from the restaurant - a good addition.
