I've been using Google calendar for a few weeks, and the main thing that I really like about it is the “Quick Add” feature, that allows you to create an event by just typing in the description of the event “in English,” e.g. “Science Policy in Latin America from 1 to 5 p.m. on May 18”.

It generally does a good job parsing the text and finding the time, date and place, but sometimes you get reminded that it is after all a dumb parse script. For instance, when the workshop on “Science Policy in Latin America” ends up being entered as occuring in “Latin America”.
