When we are both at home during the day, we sometimes take a break to go and get an espresso at a cafe a block away. We usually try to stick with an espresso, but there are other temptations:
The first photo shows “quindim” a Brazilian dessert that I could never quite enjoy, knowing the ingredients that go into it: quindim is made out of 100% pure cholesterol. Actually, there is some sugar too. The other dessert (the one I ate on that day), is of course hardly healthier. Brazilians call it “the German cake” (torta alemão), though I never heard of any similar German dish. It involves layers of dough embedded in very generous quantity of cream. At Tango especially, it’s not so much dough with cream as cream with a bit of dough.
